IIT Kanpur has released the answer key of IIT JAM 2020 for all the subjects. Students can check the correctness of their answers and find out how many marks they have got.

From the Academic Session 2004-05, IITs started conducting a Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM).

There are many MSc entrance exams held across India and IIT JAM is the most popular among them.

The objective of JAM is to provide admissions to M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programmes at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at the IISc and to consolidate Science as a career option for bright students across the country.

The curricula for these programs are designed to provide the students with opportunities to develop academic talent leading to a challenging and rewarding professional life.

All programs are open to all eligible students irrespective of their nationality.

Hi Rajas

avtar

Nitin

You will get IIT for sure. Maybe Kanpur or Bombay based on what's the trend this year.

avtar

Rajas joshi

Thank you Nitin.

Harsh, for you getting IIT seems difficult as per difficulty of question paper was easy. But you will get NIT Trichy MSc Computer Science for sure.

avtar

Nitin

Shakti, NIT Trichy for sure but IIT is difficult

avtar

Nitin

Pal, NIT trichy Msc CS is sure, but IIT is difficult.

avtar

Nitin

Guys, Last year IIT Bombay cutoff for MSC Applied Statistics and Informatics was 48 marks.

avtar

Nitin

I don't know the trend in Operation Research Dual degree

avtar

King

Marks 24 ,MS ,SC

avtar

Harsh

Is it worth for a statistics student to go for Msc Computer Science?

avtar

Nitin

I'm from BHU, three of my friends are doing Msc computer science from NIT trichy and they are from CS background. Actually course is much oriented to data science. I'll be soon posting an interview with them.

avtar

Nitin

King, there is chance for you. Good luck.

avtar

Harsh

If the course is related to data science, it should be good for stats students too right? Also shall i consider IISER and IISC for phd in mathematical sciences?

avtar

Shakti

Harsh, phd in iisc requires you to have a valid gate score. If you have written gate and have cleared it, you can apply. There is an integrated phd in mathematical science which takes through jam

avtar

Nitin

Hi harsh, yeah nit trichy msc is good for stats people, they have some computer courses too but most of them are for data science and big data. Actually at IIT bombay too we have computer courses in our MSc applied statistics. And apply to iisc for integrated PhD. They take candidate from JAM MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS too.

avtar

48 marks OBC category Is there any chance of getting IIT

Hi Amit, IIT is sure for you. Congrats🎉🎊

avtar

Harsh

What is the current placement scenario for Msc computer science in NIT TRICHY?

avtar

39 marks...ews catagory...??!!

avtar

Aditya

39 marks...ews catagory??!!

avtar

Nitin

Harsh, read about Nit trichy here: http://www.orangeballon.com/blogInfo/165/

avtar

Nitin

Aditya, no any data available for ews, since this is first time jam is accepting it. Let's see.

avtar

Amit

After counseling. Is there any interview process or not

avtar

Nitin

No interview

avtar

Harsh

NIT tiruchirappalli has started considering JAM MS scores from last year only. So have they changed their curriculum also because their latest curriculum is not available on the official site? Plus i heard from somewhere that the placement percent has dropped last year. Is it because of the change in the entrance exam?

avtar

Rajesh

59.67 any chance??? mathematical statistics?

avtar

Nitin

Hi Rajesh, you will get IIT of your choice.

avtar

avtar

Gopal

what is the expected OBC cutoff of jam mathematical statistics 2020 ?

avtar

Gopal

my marks is 29.66.what's chances in iit? OBC

avtar

Nitin

Sagar, I think you are in safe zone. Also guys if your marks is above 30 then there can be chances to get IIT K as last year one of my friend got IITK with 27 marks. But this year, many of aspirants told that the questions were comparatively easy, so cutoff may rise.

My marks is 38.7 in jam mathematical statistics and I'm belongs obc category ,is there chance of getting IIT?

avtar

Nitin

Hi priya, you will get IIT in obc category

avtar

Priya

And what is my expected rank any guess?

avtar

Nitin

I guess your rank will be under 200 for sure which is enough for getting IIT in OBC category.

avtar

Nikhil

23 marks sc ms

avtar

Nitin

Yeah for sc category 23 is good to get IIT

avtar

Soumya roy

What will be the expected rank with 59 marks in MS, this year?

avtar

Nitin

Hi soumya, I think your rank will be between 30-40. By the way, it's just a guess based on difficultiy of paper, however you may get better.
